One page of official figures, for a street or a whole area

Every number on a report comes from a public body's own published data, with the source and its date printed beside it. Nothing is estimated by us unless it says so.

Aircraft noise for one address

What the official noise map says at a postcode, and which published approach or departure route passes it, how close, and how high the aircraft are there.

  • Aircraft noise at the postcode against the WHO guideline of 45 dB
  • The nearest published routes, with the aircraft's height on the glide path
  • How the postcode compares with its neighbours in the same district
  • A map of the routes round it, from the official aeronautical publication

For: buyers and renters (free for your own home), buying agents and relocation firms, conveyancers and surveyors (prices below).

Air and noise summary for an area

The official figures for the streets you name, side by side: air quality, road noise and the nearest runway, with the area's place among the 97 council areas we compare.

  • Nitrogen dioxide and fine particles against the WHO guidelines, street by street
  • The share of the area's postcodes above the WHO road-noise guideline
  • Distance and direction to the nearest runway for each street
  • Where the area ranks for air quality and road noise

For: residents' groups, for a funding bid, a consultation response or a meeting. Free.

How a report is made

Official sources onlyDEFRA's noise and air maps, the aeronautical publications the routes are drawn from, and the Environment Agency's flood map. Each figure carries its source and date.
Checked before it leavesThe same checks that gate the website run on the data a report reads: prices against HM Land Registry, crime against the Office for National Statistics, flood against the Environment Agency's own service.
Honest about estimatesWhere the noise map has no reading for a street, the report says so and shows our estimate from the published routes as an estimate, never as a measurement.
What it does not sayHow often aircraft fly a route: the official files say where the routes are, not their traffic. And nothing about a property we have not measured.

What it costs

Your own home: freeA buyer or a renter checking one address pays nothing. One report at a time, for your own use.
Residents' groups: freeArea summaries for a funding bid, a consultation response or a meeting.
Firms: £35 a reportBuying agents, relocation firms, conveyancers and surveyors. Your first report is free, and ten cost £250. An area or site study for a firm starts at £150.

For your own home, make the street report yourself: it is made in your browser and is free. For an area summary, or a report for a client, write to support@skyscore.co.uk with the postcode or the streets, and say whether it is for a residents' group or a firm. The prices are what you pay: Cubitt33 Ltd is not registered for VAT, so none is added. A report is not a conveyancing search or a survey and does not replace either. Reports cover the city regions on the map; the San Francisco Bay Area has its own page for now.
